Otherside of Oslo Norway

So leaving the comforts of a paid camping site was a lil difficult, you kiNDA get used to the basik comforts like a toilet, sink n an elektrik burner :)...Anyway, since we knew we were moving to yet another  enchanting part of Oslo we packed all gear and headed to the woods...The super sorted publik transport of nofway/oslo,speciALLy the T-ban(underground)is a LIL complicated to understand and lil wiered...for instance, the doors aint automatik, you gotta press a button to open em,but then this makes so much sense for a place where winters are long and bitter :)..another thing, the paper eticket stayed intact with us as the validator on the bus was nt working and the metro gates were wide open :)..all n all this place is super relaxed with transport ticket system and all other systems..super honest and nice folks here ,imagine something like this in India :) :) It took close to a couple of hours from camp break (ekeberg camping)to set up here at this new beautiful n free location (...

!Yeah, the next day at Halden was pretty action packed at the town center..there was the tons of rock concert happening at the fotress, so we went there to take a peek, got a good view of the town from there..then there was the boat and food festival happening at the harbour, so enjoyed some live musik there.there was some truckers bash happening round the corner and a plenty more other gigs .... Anyway, we also managed to get a free warm shower at the grand hotel after requesting the manager :),this was long pending... Another pretty interesting thing happend this morning, at our camp came in a big guy and asked us to vacate the campin spot to go find a place somewhere else, not that he was rude or hostile in doin so,but just looked a lil determined :) he gave us another local add a few kilometers away to pitch our tent and said that place would be appropriate since this/current space was  private belonging to a trust, which ran the nearby museum and the five stone grave right...

Travel to and days in Copenhagen Denmark

Image
From Bir to Delhi to Moscow to Copenhagen: Nope, this time we didnt take our car to Delhi.Yeah mainly because we aint travelling with our bike boxes :) but sure it feels a lil wierd to go without any loco i.e. bikes or paragliders :) Anyway, not like this trip aint gonna be challenging without em.Infact, this one i feel is the most challenging than our previous ones.."Hitchhikin the unknown" Also, our own personal commute is now replaced by our very own mobile bedroom and kitchen :) So the bus ride from Bir to Delhi isnt worth talking about, except the full moon under which the magnificent Dauladhar range reminded us very strongly the reason why our current base is beautiful Bir :) Anyway, the rest day in Delhi was definately worth it.Big thanx to Meenu's mom for feeding us such fab food :)..All of this rest and mom cooked food will be surely missed in the comin months.. Along with eating and resting well, last and final bits of our packing list was taken care off and ...

Trek to Thamsar..almost :)

Image
The start was pretty normal, five of us plan and three make it.. Dont know why, but there was this slight bit of anticipation that this would happen. Meenu and me would have marched on any way as we were really itching to go,specially after our last attempt where we had to come back because of Eddie(our dog)..Novi (our friend) and her dog Chaos (dogs name) too were totally desperate for an outing i guess.. So yes, ours was a gang of three, three first timers and Chaos-the dog.Co-incidentlly the two friends who dropped out were the most expeienced/seasoned trekkers..This meant the entire plan, route, number of days etc had to be re looked at.. We started our discussion with a few route options. Considering  our experience, fitness and weather,we finalized a five night, six day short n slow trip to Thamsar pass n return from Bir via Billing.. From the time this route and date to go were decided, we had a days delay on account Novi's tent reaching Bir sent by a friend from uttrancha...

Planning,preparation,practice

As Indian travelers, the most difficult thing for us in any kind of foreign travel is acquiring a travel visa, gets more difficult with a developed country/region like Scandinavia. Gets even tougher for special people like us,with no solid jobs, nor a steady income to come back to :), and still wanna travel for months in a row... Anyway, we some how managed our way around it with whatever income. A few long and painful interviews with the visa officer and generous help from our friends in Europe and India... (tip:always back yourself with solid prof with the stuff written on your application letter )  With the visa and tickets sorted (thanx to Meenu), the count down has begun... :)Its that time of the year which is the most busiest for us, yes planning a super tight budget trip with no means of planned transport and full time wild camping and cooking is not as dreamy and poetic as it sounds, hence  practicality and planning is at the forefront for keeping us happy,...
